When submitting items to JollyCo for possible on-line publication, please consider the following:
- We can't publish everything we get.
- We won't publish what we would be embarrassed to write or show our parents or children.
- Graphic sex and "strong language" are okay only if the story requires them.
- If your story is rejected, you can resubmit it if you like, but we guarantee nothing.
- We won't knowingly publish works with errors in grammar and punctuation. Therefore we might, unless you request otherwise, return your story with suggestions for improvement.
- We like stories that involve characters and plots. We're not really fans of "art" or "literary" or "university writing class" work. Of course, if a good story comes along, we might change our minds!
- If you don't want comments on a submission, then please state that up front. We don't want to waste our time or yours!
- Submission Format: Use plain ASCII text or Microsoft Word (versions up to Word 97 only). Use WinZip or PkZip to compress the file.
- Submission Method: The preferred submission method is by attaching the work to an e-mail, sending it to info@jollyco.com. If this isn't feasible, you can mail us a diskette. If you decide to send us a hard copy of the work and we need to type it into the web page, additional costs will apply.
- Turnaround Time: We try to reply to submissions within a week of receiving them. However, we do work full-time at other jobs and you can guess what that means.
- Payment Policy: Billing occurs upon a work's first appearance on the JollyCo showcase. All invoices are due net 30 days.
